New free tool helps discover the risk of local admin accounts

New free tool helps achieve Least Privilege

Osirium has launched a new, free “Local Admin Account Discovery Tool” which scans computer estates to uncover which devices or endpoints have user accounts local administrator rights. These accounts are very powerful and a common target for cyberattacks as they can provide a gateway into the organizations network or allow keyloggers and malware to be installed.

Once the scale of the problem has been discovered, Osirium’s Privileged Endpoint Management (PEM), allows those accounts to be removed while still allowing approved applications to run with elevated privileges. That’s a critical element of any “least privilege” strategy while avoiding impact on user productivity. You can find out more about PEM here.
